Here at BoroughBox we like to let our taste buds make our choices and so, with England out of the World Cup at such an early stage we’ve needed to nominate someone new as our adopted team… and we’ve gone for the French!
Allez les Bleu!
Why the French we hear you ask? Simple. The FOOD!
Borough Market is awash with fantastic French produce and exceptional French themed and traditional French Food producers. With such a great French community of traders here in the Market, it’s no surprise that Bastille Day is quite a cause for celebration throughout the South Bank here in London and at Borough Market, right next to BoroughBox HQ.
To mark the Fête Nationale, on Sunday 13th July from 12pm Borough Market will be filled with all things French! there are some fantastic events running throughout the day both in and around the Market and there is going to be even more happening in the evening.
During the day, the Borough Market traders will be selling their French delights and there will even be a special French-themed Demonstration Kitchen in the Borough Market demo kitchen where top chef Hayley Edwards will be on hand to share her culinary knowledge of all things Le France!
In the evening the Bastille Day celebrations at Borough Market will continue from 6pm until 10pm and the Green Market will come even more alive than usual with celebrations that we hope will continue into the night with music, theatrical spectacles, eating, drinking, dancing and singing.
The Borough Box team will hopefully still be celebrating a historic French team victory and continue it through to these great events… and if not? Well… there’s always the meat, pates, cheeses and wines to help comfort us!
Check out some of our great French produce from suppliers such as Une Normandie a Londres which can be found in our Borough Box Hamper and Gift range here.
