As I caught up with the latest episode of the Great British Bake Off, I started reflecting upon my experiences of making sweet tooth desserts; while watching Iain’s ice cream thaw in the sweltering heat.
I used to be a large child, at school, kids use to clamour for seconds, while I always hoped i’d get a third portion of Apple Crumble, or whatever delicious pudding was on offer. This continued for years until I decided to go on a strict diet regime. Overnight my diet changed, I cut out all the junk food and set upon my new healthy regime. I quickly came across a healthy dessert blog; Chocolate Covered Katie, she specialises in healthy desserts for the weight conscious consumer.
The chocolate chip Quinoa cookies instantly grabbed my attention; all the hours searching for “healthy” foods led me to the “superfood” Quinoa. Katie combines it with chocolate! Who doesn’t love a chocolate chip cookie? Who needs a packet of crisps, when you have a healthier version of chocolate chip cookies… right i’m off to find a glass of milk!
